The idea was to create large open plan areas in the house that took in the natural views of the property. Most importantly was for the house to flow from room to room and utilise natural materials such as stone and timber. American Oak has been used throughout the house, its natural dark grain making for great contrast of the contemporary interior. It has been used throughout the kitchen, on both internal and external handrails, flooring and stairs. Externally we have used a traditional shaped weatherboard but made from fibre cement to enhance its durability over time and comply with the fire regulations.
